Minister Sharon is a native Houstonian who was raised by her grandparents Lannie and Charlie Ward where no other music but gospel music was allowed in the house them being a Southern Baptist Deacon and Her being a Southern Baptist Missionary (now I know “Preacher”).

Minister Sharon is married to her husband, Kenneth Stowers, of 41 years. She is the mother of a daughter and twin boys, (Shannon, Maurice and Marcel). She is grandmother of 10 (8 boys and 2 girls). She was dedicated at the altar by her grandmother for worship as a baby. 

Minister Sharon was saved at an early age and was baptized by Rev. Anderson at Mount Canaan Baptist Church. Like many others, she rededicated her life as an adult. She started playing for church in the third grade. 

Minister Sharon is the oldest of 5 girls and 1 brother. It was around that same time she and the oldest two of 4 sisters — by the direction of her Grandmother Lannie, began singing around Houston as the Ward Sisters. 

Years later their parents accepted Christ and the sisters began (all five sisters) touring Houston and the surrounding areas, the state and country performing concerts as the Norman Sisters.  They opened for Tramaine Hawkins one year in Houston at the Arena Theater and for several years were one of the featuring artists at San Antonio’s Folklife Festival where they were featured in the newspaper.

As a teenager, Minister Sharon sat under the tutelage of the late great Dr. Theola Booker of Greater St. Matthews in Houston, where Pastor Gusta Booker, Jr. was pastor and her husband.  Dr. Theola Booker groomed Sharon and many others for Minister of Music positions. 

Minister Sharon has now been the Psalmist at The House of Study in Texas City, Texas for about a year.  Her favorite scripture is Psalms 91.  The Stowers’ family motto is Psalms 1:1-3 and Joshua 1:8.  

Minister Sharon is a member of ArdyssLife and an anointed songbird and minister on The Master’s Call. [TMC] She has no degrees or special accomplishments to mention; just a truly anointed worshiper and child of the King.
